Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, molasses, and hot water. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves.
3. In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in a few tablespoons of cold water. Stir into the molasses mixture and cook until thickened.
4. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla, then pour into the pie crust.
5. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the filling is set. Let cool before serving.
